In 2013 Lee Paton met the Royal Ballet’s Elizabeth McGorian and soon afterwards the house created a bespoke look for her to attend a special event. “Her joie de vivre has since been a constant inspiration" said the designer, "so I felt I had to do something to honour it”.
Her love of furs, opulence and a keen eye for fine details makes her an ideal muse for Paton while her tall elegance and ballet poise makes her the perfect mannequin. He has tried to mirror her classic, graceful style throughout the collection accompanied by her playful humour. The range through its luxurious textures from cashmere wool and silk velvet to buttery leather and plush fur is a nod to her elegant style, whilst the relaxed shapes and tailored comfort acknowledge the earlier days of training behind the scenes in the dance studio.
